What we did this weekend

Chris headed off to California this weekend, so we decided to have some fun of our own.   Left for Logan on Friday.  We stayed at a great hotel there.  On Friday we visited 3 different cemeteries to decorate graves.  I think I have done this nearly every Memorial Day for 39 years.  We did take a back road to one of the cemeteries and had to drive 20 miles an hour over a deeply rutted dirt road for about 30 minutes.  I was thankful that the van had new tires.
Saturday morning we had a soccer tournament for Jamie.  The first two games were cold but dry, by the last two game it was pouring and freezing.  She was tough and played hard.  Her team won 1st place!  She scored many goals and played great defense.  We stayed in Logan one more night.  We were all exhausted and just lay on the bed and watched How to Train your Dragon. (great movie)  Later the kids wanted to go swim.  The pool was packed.  Evan decided he could swim all over the pool without me.  And though he did a pretty good job he did give me a few panic attacks.  The crazy pool made me glad I was not spending Memorial Day lifeguarding like so many other years.  On Sunday we met up with the in-laws and spent the day at the Hill Air Force Base air show.   Awesome!   Our military is amazing. Then home.  I was so tired I didn't even empty out the car.  Just sat there the rest of the night.   More fun on Monday by a visit to the Living Planet Aquarium.  If you have not utilized this little gem in our city  I recommend you do so soon.  It is very fascinating.  Of course we looked for stamps this weekend  found two and looked in the wrong place for the other.  Oh well we will save it for another day.
